Portion Yitro and the Great Wedding at Sinai

Portion Yitro and the Great Wedding at Sinai

After 2 weeks with little sleep in the US
I arrived in Israel 5AM yesterday and made it to my 6AM minyan

And we all went to dinner in Jerusalem with my brother's family...
Getting home late and needing sleep.

So I missed my Friday 630am minyan and

Was Lucky to be at a 730 Sefaradi minyan

Where the leader reminded us

OF THE GREAT WEDDING

1. The Torah Reading this Shabbat includes the 10
 Commandments

2. Reading those Words this week is
PREPARing us for the

Festival of Shavuote ! That's the

Anniversary of Giving the Torah!:

3. Many wise people have debated what went on at Sinai.
Rav Kook wrote that despite all sorts of theories

It is IMpossible that Moses invented a 3000 year

Successful Movement

Dedicated to G-dliness

without Divine Inspiration!

Sinai represents an Eternal Truth to the World

4. Sinai represents the Great Wedding

Between the Almighty and the Israelites.

5. Our Sinai Story gives us the model

TOO LOOK FORWARD AND ACT FORWARD

not to think
(SIGH) Oh the Ten Commandments Again?
BUT

That we Each Need to find a Daily Way

To bring us CLOSER to the Sinai VISION

Of Responsible Humanity and Joy with  Holiness

From the Torah!

Shabbat Shalom
